“You’re worth more than Gold!” Britt Nicole. This message is too true! Why do we fear what’s different? Better yet, why is being different a bad thing? We are all unique in our own way, but we are all equal. We all bleed the same red blood, have minds, faces, arms, legs, the same features but in a unique way. As a country we’ve come a long way. We’re in a state where equal rights for everyone is the biggest debate. From the equal marriage, to the Trayvon Martin case. They’re so many debates on either side of each topic because everything is an argument. Honestly I think we forgot where we came from. It’s as though all this progress is for nothing. All the crime and the hate that goes on everyday make us think, has anything really changed? With any argument on what ever topic, we CAN’T say someone was born that way. We are not born to think about anything that happens in this world. Babies think about nothing except eating, sleeping and pooping. To be real, they don’t think because actions are involuntary. They can’t make yourself hungry, tired, and use they bathroom. We learn to take control of our bodies systems so we aren’t so helpless. Just like we learn our behaviors, we learn our thoughts and feelings. At very young age, when you start you understand something, you learn. It’s at that point we can make a choice to choose or not to choose. The way we are raised plays a huge part in the person we will become. But what we forgot is that we made the choice to either accept what we’re raised to do or to change our minds. Lots of people are raised to be racist and changed their minds. At a point in life we should all see that we are equal. A color doesn’t define the person we are. We can change our color by tanning or bleaching but we are still the same person. we shouldn’t be ashamed of what were are, and we shouldn’t make people feel like their not beautiful. Everyone deserves a fair chance at life. What we should learn, is that it isn’t where you come from, it’s where you’re going. It would be a great thing if we could go back to our earliest thoughts. If we had our baby minds again, things wouldn’t have so many issues. As babies we don’t care who you are or what you do, we just want to play. With this being said we should celebrate our cultures and nationalities. Instead of hiding who we are we should embrace what makes us different. Many cultures celebrate their heritage by having festivals. We’ve all heard of the Greek festivals, Italian festivals, etc. We should have festivals for everyone. Celebrating what make you, you people appreciate the differences and enjoy the cultures. Food and music are some of the best way to represent a certain culture and everyone loves food. Its fun to try new things, and we learn that we actually like some thing. ‘Don’t knock it till you try it.’ Some help for this blog came from my boss Scott Pfitzinger.
