Perfectly Imperfect

What is beauty? What makes someone beautiful? Strangely enough we all have a different view on beauty. No matter the race or nationality all our definitions for beauty is different. There is no standard of beauty. We see certain things and people on TV but that doesn’t make them beautiful. In this generation we’ve become too caught up in our looks. Truth is the differences we once tried to hide are the ones that made us beautiful in the first place. Our skin, eyes, nose, hair, body, are all the same but with variations. Let’s face it, we all have our own insecurities, doesn’t matter how small or insignificant they are. But here my question, why can’t we love ourselves? We are so quick to love someone else including their flaws but we hesitate to love our own. Why can’t we be confident, loving, caring, helpful, and brave for ourselves? Why do we need to hide behind a mask? We don’t need to!! We were all created by one God, who made us in his imagine and he said that we are fearfully and wonderfully made, Psalms 139:14. We were made to be beautiful but we let other tells us were not. We let others have a control over us. I want for every person to know, that there is beauty inside of you. You don’t need to look like a model to be beautiful and you defiantly don’t need to have big booty and boobs. All those standards as what other people are trying to make us think we lack because they don’t like themselves.
Let’s try something new, instead of surrounding yourself with negative energy and people be that ray of sunshine. Life is all about how you look at it. Don’t focus on what you don’t have. Focus on what you do have and I promise your attitude will change. We can change beauty, but it starts with our self-confidence and how we treat others. Perfect is unrealistic. It’s an unreachable goal. We are imperfect human being created by a perfect God. Our imperfections are what make us beautiful. Being different is a good thing. We are perfectly imperfect.
